My wife and I really enjoy Christmas markets. Last year was a personal record for us, as we ended up seeing four (Dublin, Belfast, London, Lyon).
This was more due to chance than any planning on our part, but we would certainly have been disappointed not to have mulled wine for our first Christmas in Japan!
It turns out we were saved by a post from fellow Japan-based blogger Pascal, from which I learned there was a German-style Christmas market (a.k.a. ドイツクリスマスマーケット) right under the Umeda Sky building, in Osaka.
We made a brief stop there last week, before going to the candle event.
The food (and mulled wine!) selection was very nice.
The atmosphere was quite festive, with music (that poor girl must have been freezing!, it was a very cold night) and a nice effort on lights and decorations.
This definitely put us in a festive mood.
Merry Christmas to you all!
