Natural History Museum, London

A few months ago, I posted some pictures from London, including one from the Natural History Museum.

Two weeks ago, I spent another week-end there, and this time, I had a chance to get in!
Right from the entrance, I knew I was going to enjoy it. Who wouldn't love dinosaurs and giant deers?

The museum is then organised in zones, (as described on their website). On the day, the most popular one was the blue zone, and its impression collection of dinosaur fossils.

I found the museum was very well organised, with plenty of nice ideas, such as display of monkey skeletons representing their movements from tree to tree.

The minerals collection was significantly less popular, which is a shame, as it is quite nice, especially those stored in the Vault.
The pictures I took there did not come out great, but here is one, just to give a small flavour.

Overall, a very enjoyable few hours! I recommend it to everyone, (especially families, given the entrance is free).

I'm back!

It has been quite a while, but this blog is coming back to life.

Last time I posted, I was mentioning a short trip to London. A follow-up post was long overdue, so here are some additional pictures.

In today's batch, the Tower Bridge, the Palace of Westminster (as seen from London Eye), London Eye itself, and 30 St Mary Axe.

The next post should come pretty quickly (really!), so please come again soon!

London!

Another May, another trip to London!
In case you missed the photos from the previous one, feel free to have a look here.

For this year's pictures, let's first stop at Buckingham Palace!

Obviously, I was invited in, but I still tried to find some nice angles. The roundabout opposite the Palace is not too bad either.

I will post again soon, with views of other well-known spots in London.

A few days in London

Last May, I went to London for a few days. Surprisingly, even though I have been living in Ireland for a good few years now, it was the first time!

I only spent three or four days in London, for work, so I did not have time to visit any of the well-known places, but the neighbourhood was very interesting in itself.
South Kensington is not exactly the cheapest place in London, and you can really tell!

The conference I attended was taking place at the Imperial College. A very enjoyable venue, even though I tend to prefer campuses with more space.

Walking around the campus, I went past the Natural History Museum, the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, (see here for details on both). Not bad, isn't it?
